Tickets Limited for Red Ribbon Reunion Lunch

There’s a special gathering for the ‘older’ crew who have given so much to equestrian over the years.

The Red Ribbon Reunion Lunch is back as part of the NRM Horse of the Year Show, and organiser Joan Mitchell is hoping for a good turnout.

The Friday luncheon – from midday until 2.30pm – is a chance for the over-50s to get together, reminisce and renew old friendships.

The reunion lunch was started a number of years ago by Graeme Hart and was held every two years, but it has been three years since the last one.

“It is also a chance to show a little appreciation to what has been done over the years,” says Mitchell. “These are people who have been instrumental in our sport.”

An open invitation is being extended to riders, ESNZ members, volunteers, judges and anyone who has been involved in the sport.

The official function, which will include lunch by Orton Catering, will be held in the VIP marquee. Numbers are limited to 150 so Mitchell is encouraging those interested to register early.

Past federation president and commentator Norman Matheson will speak briefly.

Those who get their tickets early will also receive a free ticket to the show for the day. For more information, contact [email protected] or post your payment to NRM Horse of the Year Show, PO Box 7272, Taradale 4140. Information can also be found at www.hoy.co.nz . Tickets will be available at the show. The $35 ticket includes a two-course lunch and refreshments can be bought at the bar.
