New System for Registration at 2015 HOY
Back to Article SearchThe 2015 Farmlands Horse of the Year Show is going to be a whole lot more secure thanks to some exciting changes.
Show director Kevin Hansen says much of the revamp has been driven by their desire to continually improve HOY's health and safety practice.
“We need to know exactly who is camped on the grounds at any one time, and in the past, we just haven't,” he says. “Our new system changes that.”
The whole perimeter of the Hawke's Bay Showgrounds will be security fenced for the 2015 event.
Registration will now be done at the Rugby Club Rooms on Elwood Road. All competitors, horse floats and trucks will need to call in there to collect the necessary passes before entering the showgrounds.
The new registration area will be manned nearly around the clock for eight days from Saturday (March 14).
No one will be allowed on the showgrounds until 10am on Saturday, March 14.
While improving health and safety on the grounds, Hansen is hopeful it will also boost the finances of the show.
