There are changes in the wind for the annual Horse of the Year Hall of Fame dinner thanks to new organisers Kurt Sandtmann and Greg Howie.

The two men – who were behind the very successful VIP cross country area at the 2014 show – boast an impressive list of accomplishments. Between them, they have won – New Zealand Association of Event Professionals award, and been involved in many of the country’s top events, including the world premiere of The Hobbit in Wellington, the World Of Wearable Art's Award Show and The Livamol Classic Race Day in Hawke’s Bay.

And Sandtmann and Howie arepromising the Hall Of Fame dinner in 2015 will be a very special event.
We want to make the evening as memorable as possible for those who attend the dinner,” says Sandtmann
A new hospitality format will be introduced at the event that will include a food and beverage package showcasing Hawke's Bays finest. Renowned company Orton Catering will provide a three course meal that will be complimented with a selection of beverages from top Hawke's Bay wineries Clearview Estate and Trinity Hill.
While the guest speaker is yet to be announced, Sandtmann says talks are under way with someone who will undoubtedly captivate the interest of many – both horsey and non-horsey.

Of course one of the biggest highlights of the evening is the announcement of just who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. In 2014, Catriona Williams was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the celebratory black tie dinner, with Leicester Jarden (Waikanae) awarded the David Ross Memorial Trophy, and Peter Morris (Wairarapa) received the Pilmer Plate Volunteer Lifetime Award.

Tickets to the Thursday, March 19, event will be strictly limited to 300 and are are expected to go on sale in December 1 through www.ticketdirect.co.nz.
