Honoured to be Number One Builder at HOY

Gerrit Beker is looking forward to his debut as the number one course designer in the Land Rover Premier Arena this year.
The civil engineer from Tauranga has helped plenty of other big names at HOY over the years, including Linda Allen, John Vallance, Peter Holmes, Frank Rothenberger and Leopoldo Palacios.
Beker is one of just five in New Zealand who are ranked as an FEI Level 3 course designer – Level 4 is the highest you can go, and there are none at that level in the country.
Beker says he is delighted to be taking on the top job.
“It is very exciting for me,” he says. “I have already started quite a lot of the planning. HOY is such a prestigious event – it is a real honour to be invited to build there.”
