Stunning Australian Stallion HOY Bound

There’s a very special dressage horse heading to the 2015 Farmlands Horse of the Year Show.

In an historic first, show director Kevin Hansen has secured Jeremy Janjic and Django of Cacharel (owned by Lyn and Dick Jenkin of Tashkent Friesians) to compete at the show – it is the first time an international combination have travelled to New Zealand to compete at HOY.

It is fantastic news,” says Hansen. “I’ve seen this horse compete and he is amazing. It is very exciting to have them coming to the show.”

Django will be the first Friesian to represent Australia in dressage offshore.

I am very excited,” says Janjic. “It is such a great honour to do this and on a horse that I broke in and trained all the way to grand prix.”

He says the stallion adores a large crowd, applause, attention and cameras.

And he loves the freestyle – he gets very enthusiastic on freestyle night when he hears the music playing and can’t wait to get out to perform.”

Thirteen-year-old Django came to Janjic as a three-year-old colt to be broken in and stayed.

For the past three years, the combination have competed at the invitation-only Equitana Grand Final and Pacific League World Cup Final, and were on the long list for the Australian dressage team for the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

At HOY, the combination will compete in the Grand Prix CDI, Grand Prix CDI freestyle and the Intermediate II.
