Those contemplating entering the performance bred section at the 2015 Farmlands Horse of the Year Show have been granted a reprieve.
The section is taking late entries – with no late fee.
Performance bred coordinator Tracy Bublitz is hopeful that in extending the deadline, more will enter.
The section has again secured top international judge Emmy De Jeu (The Netherlands). A member of the KWPN board, she bred Edward Gal’s starry dressage horse Sisther De Jeu among other recognised horses.
She judged at the show last year and is said to be very excited to be returning.
“To have her judging is incredible for us,” says Bublitz, herself a breeder. “I truly believe that the warmblood horse is the way forward in the showjumping, dressage and eventing arenas.”
The classes will be run in the Land Rover Premier Arena on Thursday at the new time of 11.30am. To qualify, horses must be born in New Zealand, be expected to mature at 155cm or higher, and registered with the New Zealand Warmblood Association and/or Hanoverian, KWPN, Holsteiner Association. Ridden classes for four and five year olds will not be expected to jump higher than a metre.
Anyone wishing to enter the performance bred classes, can do so at the HOY office at the show, or contact Bublitz for more information at bublitzestate@xtra.co.nz .
