People in wheelchairs are now a step closer to walking again, thanks to leaders in equine nutrition, Mitavite saddling up to donate generously to The CatWalk Trust in their mission to find a cure for spinal cord injury.
Staunch CatWalk supporter Dame Lowell Patria Goddard sealed the deal with a firm handshake at the Farmlands Horse of the Year Show in Hawke's Bay.
Mitavite, a subsidiary of Inghams Enterprises NZ Pty Ltd, is pledging $NZD1 to CatWalk from the sale of every 20kg bag of their Equine horse feed, ‘Mitavite Munga’.

“And every bit counts,” she says. “We are so grateful for Mitavite’s support as it means we’re that bit closer to finding a cure.”
Mitavite representative, national sales and marketing manager Colin Price expressed his pride at the partnership with CatWalk on behalf of the company.
“As a company within the equestrian community, Mitavite has followed the progress of CatWalk and (founder) Catriona’s (Williams) inspirational achievements, so when the opportunity came to partner with the trust we didn’t hesitate,” said Mr Price.
“It is our series of promises that make us an integral part of the equestrian community, because not only do we back our products to deliver on our promises, wherever possible we back the clubs, societies and rescue organisations that make up this community.”
Just like their support of CatWalk.
Mr Price says that despite significant development to improve safety in the sport, the risk of injury when horses are involved is still, and will remain, high.
“For us, CatWalk is a perfect partner. We’re looking forward to working them in the future, to help make a difference.”
Mitavite’s Australian arm has proudly contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the McGrath Foundation in Australia, also by donating $1 for every bag of Munga sold.
Mitavite Munga is available throughout New Zealand at local horse feed suppliers.
