Stallions Stun Crowds at 2012 HOY
Back to Article SearchThat's the verdict from those behind the very successful inaugural parade of stallions at the 2012 NZ Horse of the Year Show.
Parade organiser Lisa Beck promised a whole new experience for those lucky enough to catch the parade, which was held on a balmy Hawke’s Bay evening as glamorous guests headed to the prestigious Hall of Fame dinner.
Twelve stunning stallions, strutting their specialty disciplines from jumping to dressage, showing to ponies, made for a stunning spectacle.
“The crowd just loved it,” says Beck. “There was a great response to it and hopefully it will just build from here.”
Thoughts are already turning to next year, with plenty of hopes to make it bigger and better.
NZ HOY show director Kevin Hansen was “absolutely thrilled”.
“It can only grow,” he says. “That was the initial one and Lisa did a good job putting on great entertainment while providing a platform for New Zealand’s breeding industry.”
He said it was a challenging section to put together for its debut at the show, but one he truly believes has a “huge future”.
“We plan to get the show more involved in the breeding industry in future years, so it’s future is certainly bright.”
