Guest Information
General rubbish collections
This year we are going to treat the competitors village as just that, a village.
In the camping areas, there are defined roads (these must be kept clear for emergency service access).
If you leave your rubbish (securely tied in a plastic bag) on the side of these roads we will collect it twice a day, just like any village but better.
Collections will start at 7.00am and 4.00pm daily beginning Monday 11th March and ending with the afternoon collection on Sunday 17th March.
.........................................
Stable collection of horse poo
There will be concrete bunded areas at each stable for horse poo. These will be cleared on a regular basis and the horse poo composted.
it is imperative that the horse poo remains uncontaminated. NO RUBBISH
One more time... NO RUBBISH!
Rubbish contamination will turn the horse poo into rubbish, thereby increasing costs to the HOTY organization and increasing our environmental footprint.
...................................
General public area rubbish collection
There will be 240L wheelie bins located all over the public areas. These will be serviced by volunteers from the Scouts. They will take the bags from these collections to a central commercial area where the rubbish trucks will be located during the day.
...............................................
Stall holders recycling
Cardboard.
During set up, commencing there will be cardboard recycling bins all over the place. Some of these will be removed Monday 11th March. The remaining bins will be strategically placed to reduce the possibility of rubbish contamination by members of the public.
All stall holders are requested to use these bins responsibly. They are for cardboard recycling. If it is not paper/cardboard then it's not to go in the cardboard bin.
Glass, plastics, cans.
The café and bar area will be supplied with receptacles for the collection of glass bottles/jars, plastic bottles/jars and aluminium and tin cans. These will be emptied on a regular basis.
