Showjumping's Holy Grail

Due to the weather conditions predicted over the weekend, we have decided to cancel the Showjumping's Holy Grail event at Church Road this year. This cancellation wasn't taken lightly but due to increased health and safety concerns we felt that this was the best option.

Big news for 2014 event!

It's the Kiwis taking on their Trans Tasman cousins for the most exciting of speed match racing ever at Showjumping's Holy Grail in Hawke's Bay on March 16, 2014.

This is showjumping's answer to to 20/20 cricket and will pitch eight of the best from Australia and New Zealand against each other – top seed against top seed.

Each of the 16 is seeded, with the four top combinations coming back for the ultimate in challenges – the fences go up but the speed has to climb also, making for heart-stopping action from very brave horses and riders.

Entry is free into the Australia v New Zealand full throttle jumping, and the team with the most points from the entire competition will will $2,000, with the runners-up bagging $600. The two members from the winning team who make the final four will each receive $300.

Also on the card at the iconic Church Road Winery is a 1.35m, horse, with $350 to the winner, and a 1.2m pony with $150 to the victor. Entries are now open.

The Church Road Winery is a popular destination, with it's stunning natural amphitheatre in beautiful park like grounds. Perfect for a family picnic and a thrilling afternoon's entertainment.
