KELT CAPITAL HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW CONDITIONS

Please read carefully as there are a number of changes from previous years.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ON THE KELT CAPITAL HORSE OF THE YEAR ENTRY FORM TO BE ACCPETED. THIS CAN BE FOUND ON THE ENTRY FORM PAGE OF THIS WEBSITE

SUBMISSION OF ENTRY FORMS IMPLIES THAT ALL COMPETITORS HAVE READ AND AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SHOW.

I am the exhibitor and/or competitor of the Horse/horses or pony/ponies stated on the appropriate entry form. I understand that neither the Organizing Committee of the Horse of the Year Show, Equestrian Sports New Zealand nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, vehicles and their contents and accessories or any personal property whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever."

1) All entry forms must be signed for entries to be accepted
2) All Classes will be run under ESNZ rules and regulations
3) All entries must be on official Kelt Capital Horse of the Year entry forms. All competitors must be current members of the ESNZ as at the 10th March 2008. Entries will not be processed if current registration stickers are not provided.
4) All entries close on Wednesday 6th February 2008. Dressage closes 1st February 2008. Money must be paid with entries. Cheques to be made payable to the 'Horse of the Year'. Credit card payments may be made using the form on the website. No phone entries or changes are accepted. Entries to:- Secretary, Horse of the Year Show, PO Box 7272, Taradale, Napier
5) Scratchings must be notified to the secretary by 4pm the previous day. All scratching incur an administration fee of 25%. REFUNDS LESS 25% AND PRIZE MONEY WILL BE POSTED OUT BY 1ST APRIL 2007 to competitors. Official scratching forms must be completed. No refunds will be made under $10 unless specifically requested, but will remain as a credit for the following year.
6) All those competing in Showjumping, Showhunter, Dressage and Showing classes must pay a ground levy of $25.00 per horse/pony to take part in the show. For other sections the fee is $15 per horse/pony. This fee must accompany the entry. Stabling prices are Covered yards $65 per horse or pony for the show. Non-covered yards are $35per horse or pony for the show. Showground camping fees are $60 for powered sites and $20for non powered sites for the show. Please ensure that you complete the stabling form found by opening the Stabling Section as well as completing your entry form.
7) Every entry form submitted must be accompanied by $15 for a souvenir and competitor's programme.
8) If you do not have email, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope if you wish confirmation of entries. (All Dressage competitors need to include a stamped address envelope)
9) Acceptance for qualifying classes and championships must be made, together with the fees, by 4pm the previous day.
10) The committee reserves the right to alter, amend or delete any class or prizemoney as it sees fit.
11) In event of excessive entries being received for any class, competitors balloted out will be notified and receive refunds in full.
12) The committee reserves the right to alter the number of competitors in championship classes if deemed necessary.
13) A reduction in prize money and placings will occur where there are 6 entries or less competing on the day.
14) Class changes will be regarded as a scratching from the original class and a entry into the new class in which you now wish to compete. Thus you will need to fill out a scratching form and a Horse of the Year entry form. You will need to indicate that this is an additional entry by circling the appropriate box. All additional entries must be paid for in full and be received by the secretary not later than 4pm the day before competition. Class changes will incur a scratching fee of 25% of the entry fee, plus late fees if changes are made after the closing date.
15) Changes of rider must be made on the appropriate form and submitted to the office before 4pm the day before competition. Proof of current membership must accompany the change of rider form and a $2 administration fee will be charged for change of rider. Change of rider forms are available on the website under entry forms.
16) There will be testing for prohibited substances during the show. All prizemoney relating to competitors horses and ponies, which are tested for prohibited substances, will be with held until the test is cleared.
17) The organizing committee will comply with IRD rules regarding payment of withholding tax on prizemoney over $500 per class. Competitors should have available for the secretary their IRD numbers for this purpose. IRD forms will be available from the secretary's office and must be completed before prize money will be paid out.
18) GST: All entry fees and prizemoney are GST inclusive. Riders/owners who are registered for GST must forward their GST number at the time of entry. A GST receipt will be issued accordingly.
19) ART 1391.1.2.138. Conflicting sponsor's logos and emblems will not be permitted during prizegiving ceremonies at the show. Placegetters will be required to wear dress rugs supplied by the organizing committee at presentation ceremonies.
20) For age group classes competitors must be able to produce proof of the horse's age. A horse's age will be taken as standard in the racing industry, ie a horse becomes a yearling on 1st August following its actual date of birth.
21) In the interest of safety, the organizing committee has stipulated that the use of power motor cycles or motor bikes be limited to daylight hours on the grounds, only licensed drivers may ride the bikes and normal road rules apply.
22) All competitors must comply with the safety procedures written for the show and follow the instructions of the safety officers appointed by the committee or the security guards on duty.
23) Any rider or person contravening Hawke's Bay Showground rules and regulations regarding stabling and grounds, will be liable for a fine not exceeding $100 and disqualification from the show.
24) Dogs are not allowed on the Hawke's Bay Showgrounds.
25) It is against the rules of the show for any product or service to be sold, advertised or preformed outside of the designated trade and food areas. Goods can only be sold with the permission of the organizing committee.

27) Stallions must be either stabled or under control of a suitable person at all times. They are not to be left tied to trucks. Stallions must be identified with an 'S' badge attached to their bridle.
28) No "For Sale" notices are to be displayed anywhere around the grounds. There is a notice board for this purpose at a cost of $25 per notice. These are to be no bigger than an A5 sheet and must be tidily presented.
